In 1967, just graduating from university, we got our Peace Corps invitation to Malaysia, and rushed for the map! The two years we spent in a government secondary school were years that transformed our thinking about the world and our responsibility in it, as much as it gave us the opportunity to work with Malaysian educators to teach many of the first generation to attend school. 25 years later we went back to visit and found our students were health care professionals, architects, politicians, business owners and teachers. They were so excited for us to see what they had accomplished, and we could not have been more honored to have shared their lives.
